Hilary Hinton "Zig" Ziglar [November 6, 1926 - November 28, 2012] was an American author, salesman, and motivational speaker.
Zig Zglar was born in Coffee County, Alabama to parents John Silas Ziglar and Viola Ziglar. He was the tenth of twelve children. In 1932, when Zig was only six years old, his father died of a stroke.
Zig and Jean[his wife] met in their teens when he was 17, and she was 16. In 1946, when she was 18 and he was 20, the couple got married in South Carolina, where Zig was attending the University of South Carolina.
Zig Ziglar passed from this world after a brief bout with pneumonia. though his time on earth has ended, the host of heaven are rejoicing and his family is celebrating a life well lived.
At about midday on wednesday 28th, I saw a tweet on my timeline posted by @JohnCMaxwell, and it read: "My friend Zig Ziglar passed away this morning. I am grateful for the many wonderful memories we had together. We lost a great one!" Just then it dawned on me that Zig is gone.
My first contact with Zig was through his book, "Better Than Good: Creating a life you can't wait to live" which my good friend Daniel gave me as a must read.
After reading that book, my perspective about life changed and i started approaching issues of life with a lot of positivity. In this nifty packed piece, Zig talked about always having a positive view to situations of life even when things seem not to be working out.
Indeed Zig has touched the lives of so many people across the globe through his over 40 books and motivational speeches and seminars. He will be greatly missed. We love him but God loves him more. R.I.P Zig.
